That alone was curiosity inducing enough to draw me into reading the entire thing. It makes you wonder about the human mind, and what stories we will tell ourselves, however misguided and strange, to maintain some grasp on ourselves in the midst of deep grief. As far as the content goes, their theory of the universe and life after death was somewhat thought provoking but not particularly illuminating or compelling or believable, and ultimately vague and useless as a conception of the universe.

Even if true, I see no practical application to our life here. It is not surprising that the book has disappeared into obscurity; what is surprising is that it was ever popular to begin with in the 40s. Again, would not recommend to anyone, but not regretful that I read it. Wendy 'windmill'. I was absolutely hooked on this book! I really enjoyed the style of writing.

I found it at an antique store with a torn cover, stained pages and mildewy smell. It spoke to me and I truly enjoyed it. It does get a bit deep in theories and the writing is definitely dated but I have no complaints.
